When installing a Metallic Epoxy Floor or Countertop Kit, you may be working with an uneven, sloped, or wavy surface, especially with concrete slabs or wood sub-floors.
As long as the slope/pitch of the floor does not exceed a 1.5-inch drop in five linear feet, then you should be fine. This parameter breaks down to 5/16-inch per linear foot when working on smaller surfaces such as counters.
The best way to test slope is to hold a 6 ft level from the highest point and measure the gap at the 5 ft mark from the floor to the bottom of the level. For counters, use a 2-4 ft level.
If the surface does exceed these measurements, the product can run, pulling the design and exacerbating streamers of Metallics in the design. If your slope is greater than the recommended parameters mentioned above, we recommend our Paint Chip Epoxy Kits or one of our Concrete Overlay Options.
